Daisy Does Lino
+ Daisy Does Lino has been active since 2021.
+ Themes often draw upon mycology, wider ecology, and translating her weird dreams into print ideas.
+ Her approach is centered around mindful imperfection. Printmaking is traditionally a very structured, precise practice. Daisy’s focus is more on connecting to the act of carving in the moment, embracing the human imperfections that can and will happen at every stage of the process.
+ This is an approach she carries over when leading lino workshops; encouraging people to be creative in the process, not just the result.
+ The materials she uses are eco-concious. All the lino used is plant-based and biodegradable, and she typically prints on sustainable lokta paper. Pointing to the environmental sources of the materials within the process of printmaking is something she further actively explores and explains through her workshop work.
+ She’s been developing her lino practice alongside her sound art installations, initially using them as complementary visuals, but more recently as parts of the interactive elements of the installations themselves. Currently, she is continuing to explore this intersection of sound carving in future work.
