Whose Voice Will Announce It?

Dilston Grove, SE London | MA Sound Arts Final Show
20th-23rd November 2025

To Cut a Tiger
(2025)

Silent sculpture in linoleum, with accompanying visuals and sound piece by the
artist.

Linoleum carries a layered material history - one that resonates with the social
politics of sound and silence. Through her intersectional practice of sound and
linocutting, Daisy explores how making can become a platform for hearing and
amplifying marginalised voices.

This work reflects on the internal effects of silencing: does external suppression also
mute the inner voice? Considering silence as a form of violence, Daisy approaches
anger as a form of inner resistance and healing. Rather than controlling or erasing it,
she listens—asking how compassionate self-listening might transform anger into
care, movement, and resilience.

Drawing from Buddhist philosophy, Untaming references the metaphor of the inner
tiger: anger as raw, vital energy that must be met with respect rather than
dominance. By acknowledging and listening to this inner tiger, Daisy proposes
coexistence over control.

Through carving linoleum—a process of physical resistance and release—she
channels unspoken anger into material form. The resulting sculpture becomes both
an act of recording and a gesture of transformation: from silence to sound,
suppression to expression, and destruction to new imaginings of a future forward.
